I was born in Puebla (Mexico) but lived most of the time in State of Mexico. I studied an engineer in Telematics (a fusion between telecommunications and informatics) at the Instituto Tecnológico Autónomo de México (ITAM), where as well as science I learnt about the responsibility of individuals as part of the community. During university years I had the chance to participate in the human resources area of AIESEC (headquarter ITAM) and to work with Dr. Andrés Gómez de Silva in a project on resources optimization using genetic algorithms.
On the my university last years my interest on Astronomy arose reason why my thesis was entitled as "Study of classic methods and wavelets to determine variable stars periodicity" and was supervised by Dr. Francisco García Ugalde (ITAM and UNAM) and Omar López Cruz from the Instituto Nacional de Astrofísica, Optica y Electrónica (INAOE).
I came to INAOE (Tonantzintla, Puebla) to do the master in Astrophysics. My master's thesis gave me the chance to get into the starburst galaxies study and to work under the supervision of Dr. Sergiy Silich, Dr. Guillermo Tenorio-Tagle and Dr. Casiana Muñoz-Tuñón. In this project used theoretical hydrodynamical models and optical observations of super stellar clusters in to in M82 galaxy. The results obtained in my thesis were published in the The Astrophysical Journal as a scientific article entitled "On the heating effciency derived from observations of young super star clusters in M82".
I am now working on my Ph.D. thesis under the supervision of Dr. Daniel Rosa González, Dr. Elena Terlevich and Dr. Ángeles Díaz. I am mapping the star formation history in a sample of H II galaxies through the analysis of optical and near infrared images taken with the 4m SOAR telescope.
Apart from Astrophysics I am interested in Art history and bakery. I am not good at any sport but like to exercise, which is why I have been through gyms, swimming, jazz dance, belly dance, flamenco and soccer lessons. I always carry a book with me cause love to read but usually find little time to do it.
